Andrea Bordugo

Andrea Bordugo, MD, Pediatrician. He is the Head of the Inherited Metabolic Diseases Unit, Department of Pediatrics, University of Verona, Italy. Clinical Chief of the Regional Centre for Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment of Inherited Metabolic Disorders. Member of SSIEM and SIMMESN( Coordinating the Working Group on Dietetics and Metabolic Disorders)

Andrea Bordugo

Dr Bordugo earned his medical degree and completed his residency in Paediatrics at the University of Padova.

After an experience at Kings College Hospital London he continued his pediatric career as pediatrician at Pordenone Hospital were he became leader of the unit for rare and genetic disorders. Later he gained his master degree in pediatric nephrology at Padova University and started to interest himself in rare and congenital renal and metabolic disorders.

From 2009 he moved to the Inherited Metabolic Disease Unit of Padova University(Director Dr Alberto Burlina) where he was involved in the clinical care of children and adults with inherited metabolic disorders.

He took part to International Registries(E-IMD)

From 2014 he moved to Verona University to be the Clinical reference for the Regional Expanded Newborn Screening Program.

An enthusiastic metabolic team grew up giving care and support to an increasing number of pediatric and adult patients.

His main interest are metabolic disorders of aminoacids, fatty acids, urea cycle and organic acidurias.

He is author and co-author of papers in the metabolic field.
