Francesca D’Avanzo received her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Molecular Biology at the University of Padova (Italy), where she was also awarded her doctorate degree in Developmental Medicine and Health Planning Sciences (Curriculum: Rare Diseases; Genetics, Biology and Biochemistry).
During her PhD and post-doc research activities, she was involved in the research field of Lysosomal Storage Disorders, specifically focusing on the genetic, pathophysiological and therapeutic aspects of Mucopolysaccharidoses and in the application of bioinformatics to the study of genetic diseases.
From 2013 to 2016 she participated in the European Project “Inherited NeuroMetabolic Disease Information Network” (InNerMeD-I-Network, 2012 12 12, Second Health Programme 2008-2013), collaborating on the creation of an information network and a database of Neurometabolic Diseases and on the dissemination activities of the project.
She is co-author of many scientific articles published in peer reviewed journals.
