FERRUCCIO SANTINI

Prof Santini graduated in Medicine and Surgery with a first-class honours degree at the University of Pisa, specializing in Endocrinology at the same University of Pisa with praise. Senior Medical Manager at the U.O. of Endocrinology I of the Hospital Pisana. Since February 2004 responsible for the “Obesity Center” section of the U.O. Endocrinology 1 of the University Hospital Pisana. In 2006 he was a member of the Regional Food and Health Commission with the task of coordinating the workgroup for the obesity care pathway. Since September 2007, he is the regional contact point for the Northwest Area of the Tuscany Region with the task of coordinating the Network of Integrated Services for the Prevention and Treatment of Alimentary Disorders. Since September 2008 he is an Associate Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Pisa.
He has conducted research in the field of thyroid pathophysiology and obesity, and the results have been presented to national and international congresses and published in scientific papers. He is currently a member of the editorial committee and referee of several national International scientific journals.
Previous council member of the Italian Society of Obesity Surgery (SI COB) and Member of the scientific commission of the Italian Society of Endocrinology (SIE). He is a founding member of the European Consortium of Lipodystrophies (ECLip) and Member of the Ethical Committee of the North-West Area of Tuscany.
