Olga Azevedo graduated in the Faculty of Medicine of Porto University. She specialized in Cardiology, with a sub-specialization in advanced cardiac imaging at Unidad de Imagen Cardiovascular in the Hospital Clinico San Carlos in Madrid.
Olga Azevedo is the Head of the Echocardiography Lab and responsible for the Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases Consultation in Hospital Senhora da Oliveira – Guimarães. She was member of the direction of the Working Group of Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases of the Portuguese Society of Cardiology.
Olga Azevedo is the Head of the Reference Centre on Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSD) in Hospital Senhora da Oliveira – Guimarães, Portugal. She has extensive clinical expertise, currently following more than 250 patients with LSD. She has been member of the National Committee of Treatment of LSD for several years.
She is an invited lecturer of Cardiology at the Medicine School of Minho University, Portugal.
Olga Azevedo is actively involved in several research projects on LSD and published several scientific papers on this field. She is investigator of the Fabry Outcome Survey. She has also participated as a guest lecturer or chair in several scientific meetings.
