Eliane Sardh, MD, PhD, endocrinologist, is a member of the steering committee of European Porphyria Network an organization that promotes research in the field of porphyrias and facilitates best practice in their treatment and diagnosis. She is a senior consultant at the Center of inherited metabolic diseases and holds the lead position of the Porphyria Centre Sweden at Karolinska University hospital in Stockholm, Sweden.

Eliane Sardh is a master of science in biochemistry and engineering and has a medical degree from Karolinska Institutet. She is a specialist in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and has a PhD degree from Karolinska Institutet on Acute Intermittent Porphyria. Her main field of research is in the field of acute porphyrias where she is involved in several ongoing studies within national and international collaborations. She is a senior consultant at Karolinska University Hospital where she is the team leader for porphyria patients and she has the lead position at Porphyria Center Sweden, a national center for diagnosis and treatment of all porphyrias. Eliane Sardh is a member of the steering committee for EPNET-European Porphyria Network that promotes fundamental and clinical research in the field of porphyrias, aims to improve knowledge of the porphyrias and facilitate best practice in their treatment and diagnosis by accommodating and interconnecting expert activities across Europe in the service of porphyria patients. She is a coordinator of the MetabERN subnetwork Disorders of Neuromodulators and Small molecules NOMS. Eliane Sardh has published about 25 scientific papers book chapters and reviews.
