The MetabERN Amino and Organic Acids (AOA) Subnetwork is organising a webinar on Tyrosinemia Type 1, viewed from a neurometabolic perspective, on May 27, 2025, from 13:00 to 15:30 CEST. The webinar will be hosted by the Frambu Centre for Rare Diseases.
The session will begin with Prof. Anibh Das providing an overview of Tyrosinemia Type 1, focussing on the knowledge gained so far and identifying areas that require further research. Following this, Prof. Jan Haavik will discuss the biochemical impact of Tyrosinemia Type 1 on the brain.
Dr. Danique Draaisma-van Vliet and Prof. Francjan van Spronsen will then present on the neurocognitive outcomes associated with Tyrosinemia Type 1, highlighting the condition’s effects on cognitive function. The session will also feature a presentation on the status of Tyrosinemia Type 1 in Norway by Dr. Yngve Thomas Bliksrud and Dr. Trine Tangeraas.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer session at the end, encouraging discussion and collaboration among attendees.
