Trine Tangeraas
Trine Tangeraas, MD PhD, paediatrician earned her medical degree and PhD education at the University of Bergen and at the University Hospital in Oslo Norway, respectively. She completed her residency in Paediatrics in Oslo University Hospital in 2007. Before converting to the field of congenital metabolic diseases in 2011, she worked as a paediatric nephrologist with research on long-term outcome after renal transplantation in childhood and was engaged as University teacher for medical students in paediatrics. In 2012 she was employed as a consultant paediatrician during the expansion of the Newborn Screening program in Norway. She also works in the Advisory Unit /centre of competence for metabolic diseases in Oslo University Hospital. She participates and is in charge of the treatment and follow-up of children with metabolic diseases ( intermediate metabolism) at the Division of Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine. Her work at the Advisory Unit /Centre of Competence for Metabolic Diseases in Oslo University Hospital includes teaching and to arrange courses and interdisciplinary forums for the diagnostics and treatment of IEM. She is part of the research group for Newborn Screening and Metabolism. She is engaged in the project “Improving child health by newborn screening; rapid identification of severe, treatable congenital disorders by combining novel biomarkers with next generation sequencing.” She is also supervisor in a project on B12 deficiency in infancy
