Roberto Cerone, MD, PhD, paediatrician, is the Director of Regional Center for he Neonatal screening and diagnosis of metabolic disease(Liguria Region) He is Associate Professor of Paediatrics at the Dept. of Paediatris University of Genoa- Giannina Gaslini Institute, Italy.

Prof Cerone earned his medical degree and his residency in Paediatrics (1977), Psychology (1984) and in Paediatrics Neurology and Psychiatry (1990) at the University of Genoa
Since 1980 to 1994 Researcher in Pediatrics and since 1994 Associate Professor in Pediatrics at University of Genoa
Research Experience

Prof. Roberto Cerone has been working in the field of inborn errors of metabolism and neonatal screening since 1978.
Prof. Roberto Cerone has been President of Società Italiana per lo Studio delle Malattie Metaboliche (SISMME) from 1999 to 2003, President of Società Italiana per gli Screening Neonatali (SISN).from 2003 to 2009 and President of Società Italiana per lo studio delle malattie metaboliche ereditarie e lo screening neonatale (SIMMESN) until 2013
He is Head of Regional Center (Liguria) for neonatal screening and diagnosis of inborn errors of metabolism.
He is author of about 70 full papers related to inborn errors of metabolism and neonatal screening.
