Paula-Sánchez-Pintos

I have participated in 5 projects, 3 of them Phase I-II projects, in Inborn Errors of Metabolism. I am author / co-author of 9 publications indexed in the JCR (one actually in press), and I also am one of the authors of the Protocol of homocystinuria of the Spanish Association for the study of Congenital Errors of Metabolism (AECOM), 2017.

At the Academic and Professional level:
Extraordinary Degree Award by University of Santiago de Compostela. Date: June 2001.
Graduate Prize of St. Nicholas Foundation to the best academic record awarded by the Royal Spanish Academy of Medicine on January, 2001.
Specialty of Pediatrics developed in the Hospital Universitario Materno-Infantil Vall d´Hebron (Barcelona 2001-2005).
Research Proficiency in Pediatrics and Advanced Studies Diploma (DEA) in Pediatrics awarded by Autónoma University of Barcelona.
PhD in Medicine and Surgery by the Santiago de Compostela University (USC), obtained in January, 2016.
Staff member of The Diagnostic and Treatment of Congenital Metabolic Diseases Unit of Hospital Clínico Universitario de Santiago de Compostela since 2014, where I currently carry out the clinical follow-up of more than 350 pediatric patients with inborn errors of metabolism. Moreover in our Unit we follow ketogenic diet of 20 patients with non-metabolic refractory epilepsy referred from Galician region.

  •  At the Teaching level: I am member of the Academic Committee and teacher of the Master’s Degree of Hereditary Metabolics Diseases from USC.
  • At the Research level:
    Member of the Research Group C012 of Metabolopathies of The Health Research Institute (Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria- IDIS) of Santiago de Compostela.
    External collaborator of the Group (Group GI-1345) of Neonatal Medicine and Development from the University of Santiago de Compostela.
