Dr. Madara Auzenbaha is a leading researcher in Riga Stradins University Scientific Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Head of Rare Diseases Coordination Center as well as ERN BoMS member at the Children’s Clinical University hospital of Riga.
She has expertise in medicine and health sciences – clinical medicine (approved by the Latvian Council of Science). As certified laboratory geneticist she has experience in the interpretation of molecular data as well as practical experience in recognizing phenotypes of genetic diseases. As a scientist she has been involved in several projects covering multifactorial and monogenic disorders. She received her PhD in 2015. She was leading the project “Pilot study – newborn screening for spinal muscular atrophy”.
Dr. Auzenbaha has special interest in Metabolic diseases, especially in phenylketonuria.
She takes an active part in the educative process at the university as an assistant professor.
