Felix Distelmaier

Prof. Felix Distelmaier graduated in Medicine at the University of Essen and qualified as pediatrician at the University Hospital in Düsseldorf. He has specialized in pediatric neurology and has a clinical and fundamental research focus on mitochondrial as well as neurometabolic diseases. Prof. Distelmaier is involved in natural history studies and clinical trials for patients with mitochondrial and other rare metabolic diseases (e.g. Deutsches Netzwerk für mitochondriale Erkrankungen, mitoNET). His basic research on primary coenzyme Q₁₀ deficiency disorders is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
