Cinzia Maria Bellettato, received her Master Degree in Biological Sciences, summa con laude, from the University of Ferrara, Italy in 1997 and she was awarded her doctorate degree in Experimental Respiratory Pathophysiology in 2004 from the University of Parma (Italy). During her PhD course she was also trained at the Imperial College of London participating in a number of multi-centre research studies. Since April 2009 she has been deeply involved in the exploitation and dissemination activities related to rare neurological diseases being the scientific officer of the Brains for Brain Foundation (B4B) and the project assistant manager for the Project “Inherited NeuroMetabolic Disease Information Network” (InNerMeD-I-Network, 2012 12 12, Second Health Programme 2008-2013).
She is particularly interested in rare genetic diseases, specifically in the group of lysosomal storage disorders, but also in all those conditions characterised by CNS inflammation (e.g. Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, tumours, stroke, etc.). She is co-author of many book chapters and several of her scientific articles have been published in peer reviewed journals.
