Anna Hlavatá obtained her degree in medicine at the Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia, her postgradual degree in Pediatrics at the Slovak Medical University of Bratislava, PhD in Pediatrics at the Comenius University and Master of Public Health at Slovak Medical University, Faculty of Public Health. Anna Hlavatá is working at the Pediatric Departement of the Comenius University, National Institute of Children’s Diseases. She was the Head of the Pediatric Departement and the Deputy director for the medical-preventive care in the National Institute of Children’s Diseases and Comenius University, Faculty of Medicine. Since 1993 her main focus is on inherited metabolic disorders, mainly lysosomal storage disorders, she is a pioneer in the administration of enzyme replacement therapy in several inherited metabolic disorders in Slovakia, participating in many international studies. Anna Hlavatá is member of the Slovak Paediatric Society, Slovak Biochemical Society, Slovak Medical Association – Division of Inherited Metabolic Disorders and member of the Slovak Association of Atherosclerosis, as member of committee. She has 94 monographs in domestic and foreign journals and cooperation in 8 scientific projects.
