Job opening: Medical Writer / Research Facilitator
The Regional Coordinating Centre for Rare Diseases of Azienda Sanitaria Universitaria Friuli Centrale (ASU FC), Italy which is the Coordinating centre of the European Reference Network for the Rare Metabolic Disorders (MetabERN) is currently seeking a self-employed collaborator for the role of Medical Writer in healthcare and Research Facilitator to support the research promotion activities of the MetabERN network.
Contract duration: 12 months

Essential qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Biology (or equivalent degree programme) or Medicine degree
- PhD or specialisation in the biomedical field
- Excellent knowledge of the English language
- Long-standing experience in the field.
Desired qualifications:
- Specific courses/master’s degree in science communication
- Work experience in the field of scientific communication
- Working experience in the field of rare diseases
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English with particular reference to medical/scientific English.
Description of duties:
- Promoting and facilitating research within the MetabERN network with the ultimate goal of improving healthcare for patients with inherited metabolic diseases
- Analysing the research potential and needs of MetabERN using surveys and other types of investigations
- Facilitating the publication process of scientific articles
- Facilitating collaboration between different research and clinical groups within the network
- Organising meetings and matchmaking activities, also through synergy with other projects involving the MetabERN network, to encourage interaction and collaboration between various groups within the network and with other ERN networks
- Facilitating the development of potential research partnerships
- Collaborating with working groups and sub-networks by facilitating the organisation of activities, participating in regular meetings, and preparing scientific reports
- Attending in-person and online meetings and events, with possible travel if necessary.
