Area of expertise and the Healthcare Provider’s contribution to care for patients within the MetabERN Network
The Competence Center for Rare Diseases of Tartu University Clinic deals with the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of rare diseases. The goal of our center is to bring together the best multidisciplinary competence of the Clinic in the field of rare diseases. We cooperate in the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases both nationally and internationally.
During the consultation, we will find out the most suitable forms of treatment and rehabilitation and, if possible, methods to relieve symptoms.
In addition, the center aims to contribute to research aimed at deepening disease knowledge and improving diagnosis, care and treatment for patients with rare diseases.
Our center employs a social work and clinical coordinator and a nurse whose task is to help patients with rare diseases and their family members find the best way to cope with their health concerns.
