How to get involved?
MetabERN is the first European network dedicated to improving care and quality of life for people living with rare inherited metabolic diseases. It is funded by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency and was established in 2017.
MetabERN mission is to strengthen collaboration among clinicians, researchers, and patients, across Europe, to share knowledge, raise awareness of IMDs and improve patients care.
By joining MetabERN, your association can:
• connect and collaborate with other patient organisations across Europe and beyond
• share experiences and best practices
• contribute to earlier diagnosis, better care pathways, and improved disease management
• help build a stronger bridge between patients, clinicians, scientists, and policy-makers
• advocate together for faster access to treatments and cures
The network thrives on the participation and voice of patient communities, so that together we can ensure that the needs of people with IMDs are heard and addressed.
MetabERN supports a wide range of activities, including the development of clinical guidelines and the creation of educational programmes for patients.
MetabERN would be delighted to welcome you into its community. There are no specific requirements to join MetabERN, other than being an active association advocating for inherited metabolic diseases.
