The General Hospital of Athens “LAIKO” is a public teaching hospital and comprises numerous clinics, labs, inpatient wards and outpatient departments. The primary purpose of the establishment of the Hospital was the treatment of indigent patients suffering from common diseases, and at the same time the education of doctors, students of the Medical School and nurses. Laiko General hospital is currently organised in three departments, namely the surgical department, the pathological department and the laboratory department.
Center of Expertise for Rare Hematological & Rare Metabolic Diseases was established in Laiko Hospital as a facility dedicated to providing comprehensive care and treatment for individuals with rare blood and metabolic disorders. As a recognized leader in this field, the Center offers a unique combination of specialized expertise and advanced diagnostic tools.
