Hannover Medical School
W. Büter
From 2011 until today he is working together with Prof Das in the Children’s Hospital of the Hannover Medical School in the Department of Paediatric Kidney, Liver, and Metabolic Diseases.

Dr. Büter graduated from Medical School Hannover in May 2007 and was working since that time until 2011 as research associate in the Perinatal Infectious Unit of the Hannover Medical School. In his doctoral thesis he worked on the erbB receptor expression in the fetal endothelium of term and preterm newborns. The erbB receptors and their ligands (epidermal growth factor (EGF) and neuregulin (NRG) amongst others) are involved in developmental and maturation processes, in the fields of cancer biology, and in the pathogenesis of neonatal disorders. His main scientific interest is in brain damage in newborns. Basic science research as well as clinical epidemiology (NEOBRAIN) serve as a basis to contribute to the prevention of perinatal brain damage and its potential consequences physical and mental disabilities.
