Michela Onali

Michela has a Bachelor in Language Mediation and a Master’s Degree in Euro-Med policies and cross-border cooperation in the Mediterranean region.
In 2018 she relocated to Italy after working for several years in formal and non-formal education in Turkey and then Canada. Since her return to Europe, she has been involved in Rare Disease advocacy at a European, national and regional level and has contributed to projects and initiatives in Europe aimed at fostering multi-stakekolder collaboration, early and meaningful patient partnership in basic, pre-clinical and translational research for rare diseases.
Michela is a patient with an ultra rare-disease called GNE Myopathy, a muscle disease and congenital disorder of glycosylation (CDG). She is a EURORDIS Summer School and Winter School alumna and a EUPATI Fellow. She speaks Italian, English, Spanish and Turkish.
Michela joined MetabERN in May 2022 to support the team in the strategic, tactical and coordination activities of the network.
