Eileen Treacy

Prof. Treacy is an experienced Biochemical Geneticist/Metabolic Consultant. She is appointed
as an adult based consultant at the Mater Misericordiae University (MMUH) Hospital Dublin, (previously employed at Temple St. Childrens University Hospital (CHI) and MMUH). She trained in Paediatrics and Clinical and Biochemical Genetics in Canada, Australia and France and was appointed to the level of Associate Professor in Paediatrics and Human Genetics at McGill University, Montreal, Canada before returning to Ireland in 2001.
She is Clinical Professor of Medicine of Rare Diseases at Trinity College Dublin and a Full Clinical Professor at University College Dublin.
Prof Treacy is currently the Clinical Director of the Irish National Rare Diseases Office and the Irish representative to the EC European Reference Networks Board of Member States. She is on the Steering Group of the GalNet Consortium.
Prof. Treacy has specific research interests in Rare Diseases, Inherited Metabolic Disorders and the treatment of Genetic Diseases and has published extensively in this area.
